The AB in 'crystal AB' means: Aurora Borealis, which means 'noorderlicht'. Aurora Borealis stones have a special iridescent finish that shines with many colors. The iridescent surface is a result of a very thin layer of metal atoms deposited on the bottom surface of the stone. This process was invented in 1955 by Swarovski together with Christian Dior.
